I’ve been flirting with trend forecasting for a long time. Things are now changing faster than ever. Once, I heard someone declare that today will always be the slowest day we will ever live, and that just hit me. Everybody is doing "trends" nowadays (or nobody is) and that’s just exciting for me because I enjoy playing this game. Mystical approach aside, no researcher is an island, so I believe that the best thing is to listen to people. Just listen to them until you feel your head is about to explode. It won't. I believe in raw data, in hardcore desk research, but also in intuitive feeling. I believe in aesthetics, in the refusal of the humdrum. In saying no and saying good-bye. I go deep into psychology and psychoanalysis to unravel some of that beauty/mystery of human nature. I’m curious about what’s behind the next door. Living in the Pressure of Now might be a drag, but providing new visions and concepts to push brands and people to always look further is purely gratifying to me. After all, not everything is about the urge of fitting in. As Giorgio Agamben gracefully said: Those who are truly contemporary are those who neither perfectly coincide with their time nor adapt to its demands.
