Lucas practices in the area of civil litigation, including shareholder and other commercial disputes, professional negligence actions, class actions and administrative and public law proceedings. Lucas has appeared as counsel in trials, appeals and other hearings before numerous administrative boards and tribunals, municipal councils, private commercial arbitrations, and all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. He has written papers for and presented at conferences on a variety of legal topics for both legal and non-legal audiences. Lucas received The Advocates’ Society Arleen Goss Young Advocates’ Award (2011) for public interest advocacy, and was recognized in 2011 as one of Lexpert Magazine’s Rising Stars – Leading Lawyers Under 40. He was recognized as a "Litigator to Watch" in Lexpert Magazine's 2012 Cross-Border Litigation Guide. He was selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers for the categories of Corporate Commercial Litigation, Appellate Practice, and Administrative & Public Law.
