An enthusiastic, confident and highly motivated engineering student specialising in mechanical engineering and physics. Excited for the prospect to be putting my theoretical engineering and scientific knowledge into a practical setting so that I may apply my skills and attributes to the working industry to develop myself into a more capable and skilled individual. My academic background has equipped me with the analytical, technical, and research skills that allow me to excel both collaboratively in a team or independently to achieve success in numerous university projects. While my experience beyond university so far, in various teaching rolls, management positions at multiple businesses, exploration and mining for opal in outback Australia, as well as volunteering opportunities, I believe has equipped me to be a highly motivated and confident individual who is enthusiastic about approaching and solving challenges whether that be by myself or as part of a team. I like to take an optimistic approach to challenges, in that with the right creative approach, any problem can be solved.I would further describe myself as an always confident, responsible, and excellent communicator as a result of my time as a school captain and active participation in employment and other activities. With a strong ability to remain unaffected by stressful situations as demonstrated in the workplace and group tasks where multiple tasks are being handled by a specific deadline. I am capable and competent in using a variety of software and programs such as SOLIDWORKS, Fusion360, AutoCAD, KeyShot, Ansys, Space Gass, Photoshop, and programming in C and MATLAB.

Opal Mining - General Exploration, Excavator And Drill Rig OperatorOpalicon Jun 2018 - PresentQueensland, AustraliaWorking both independently and as part of a small scale team in the opal mining industry in several remote outback locations throughout Queensland. This experience has had me involved in all facets of the opal mining operation from initial prospecting and exploration that involves the operation of drill rig equipment to the physical mining and processing of the opal gemstone that involves operation of heavy excavator machinery as well as various processing cutting, grinding, and polishing equipment. This experience has garnered me with a unique appreciation of not only opal mining and the incredible opal gemstone, but also the mining industry and life in outback Australia as well.
