I'm the RunOps Tech Lead at Walgreens.What do I do:- Connect Walgreens with their contractors, making sure that Walgreens receives the best quality software, helping manage 10 onshore resources, and 30 offshore.- Making sure that the software life cycle is following the plan - Code reviews, code reviews, code reviews- Following, improving, and automating our process, also finding blind spots of development- Communicating with the business side what we are doing on the tech side, and making sure the software that is needed is there- Thinking of tools and solutions that contractors can't do due to time constraints, and coding them- Being generally awesome while doing itSome of the new toys I've been using since I got here:Hadoop, Hive, Tableau, SAS, and a little bit of React, Javascript, Typescript. Java is part of most of the applications under my team, which we tend to use Springboot with them. There are some occurrences for Node.js.

I'm currently working on the LIHA project (loyolainstituteforhealthyaging.org), as a full-stack developer. I'm using Agile to work with the group in need of a website, and Agile has been pretty helpful on communicating with them and adjusting the needs as fast as possible.Since part of the website is used by the students, a nice and friendly CMS was a huge need. We decided on Wordpress for it. I did the whole server installation, PhpMyAdmin, and CPanel Linux installation (although trivial since the private server provided good tools for it in this case), and have been working on extending Wordpress to suit their needs. A plugin is in the works to create custom pages and using the robust CMS of Wordpress to edit a specific designed page without the need of touching its backend. So I'm doing a bunch of PHP, CSS/HTML with Bootstrap, and might even put some React in there.It's fun work, and the need for speed here is dire. Chop chop. PS: The site is in the works now, so certain things might look a little wonky. I usually prefer to use only my Local environment pre-deployment, but to help them visualize changes and helping them discuss things, we decided to put everything online, and since the website isn't technically useful until the release date, it's all good.

I was part of the Summer Research Program. I was the lead engineer of the CESA app. CESA stands for College Excellence for Students with Autism, and it is a project idealized by Dr Denise Davidson, from Psychology at LUC. The need is for students with autism to have an online network of their own, to facilitate communication, socialization, and also helping improving their organization skills.The app is a social media, a planner, and a social tool for the University facilitators and students that are in the ASD spectrum.The need here was a full stack CMS system. What did I do? I installed a Linux server, following all the big requirements for the CMS of choice that I found out with some research; the whole shebang: WebMin for administration, setting up CRON jobs; PhpMyAdmin for that good visual feedback with the databases, and a bunch of Linux installations that aren't standard in RedHat, Centos, or Ubuntu, so it was a bit challenging, but a lot of fun to deal with. At the end of the project, I had up a full CMS system, with timelines, direct messages, emailing, pretty awesome. I'll be extending the CESA app next semester, change its servers to a HIPAA compliant server, and then put it up for students in the ASD spectrum to test it out.It's a pretty simple homepage now, and there's still a bunch of work to come, but the thing is shaping up nicely.
