CurrentProviding a comprehensive housing allocation, management and rent collection service across the Council’s temporary accommodation portfolio.Inspecting, allocating and managing temporary accommodation in accordance with relevant legislation, good practice guidance and Council policy, procedure and performance framework. This includes temporary tenancies, hostel supported accommodation, accommodation managed by external contactors and bed and breakfasts.Maximising the Council’s income by ensuring the correct rent and fuel charges are paid in accordance with the Occupancy Agreement through frequent monitoring of rent accounts to minimise arrears. Where appropriate, refering and liaising households to debt / money advice services and Revenues and Benefits services.Authorising invoice payments. Recharging cost, budget. Generating invoices and monitoring repayments.Shortlisting, allocating and managing the day to day operation of the contracted out management of Private Sector Leased temporary accommodation.Undertaking investigations and compiling evidence as part of legal paperwork, such as legal Notices to Remove from the Property. As part of the case investigation, ensuring detailed statements are taken in accordance with legal requirements and established procedures. Maintaining detailed reports of all interviews and information gathered for assessment, audit trails and statistical purposes.Recommending and agreeing with Council staff, the Homelessness Prevention Team, Community Safety Team, Police and others the most appropriate means of resolving breaches of the Occupancy Agreement.
