I was hired three weeks prior to the grand opening of this brand new store. In those three weeks, I assisted with putting the entire store together. Once the store opened, I worked on the floor, where I had a number of responsibilities. In each of my shifts, I was either assigned to the floor, behind the register, or in the fitting room area. When I was on the floor, I was responsible for greeting every customer that walked in and giving them a full-service experience. That meant I had to be fully knowledgeable on every product we had so I could assist customers with finding what they are looking for and can market and sell it to them. I was also responsible for bringing items to the fitting room for customers to try on and if their size was not on the floor, I would go get it from the back. While on the floor, I also made conversation with customers to make their experience in the store feel like it is more than just shopping. Furthermore, I always had to keep the area I was stationed in pristine shape at all times. This all gave me lots of valuable experience and skills as I vastly improved my marketing and selling skills. In addition, given that this store was brand new, it was always super busy, so I was often assisting multiple customers at the same time, which gave me valuable experience working in a very fast-paced environment, where I was often multitasking. When I was stationed at the cash register, I gained lots of experience with customer service and using new sales technology. We used Shopify for our transactions and learning how to ring up purchases and process returns gave me great experience with modern sales technology. I was also responsible for answering all phone calls, which were often from other stores and would have to take care of their requests. In all, I can confidently say that this job provided me with lots of skills and experience across numerous aspects of business that will be very valuable for me in my future endeavors.

I was an official for the intramural sports program on campus. I officiated basketball and softball and gained a number of valuable skills and experience. Prior to becoming an official, I underwent in-depth training for each sport, where I was able to showcase my expertise on the rules of each sport. My responsibilities as an official were more than just officiating a game. I was also responsible for many of the gameday operations including setting up everything, checking in players, and keeping score. From all of this, I have gained lots of valuable experience working in a fast-paced environment that is directly sports-related.

Worked mainly as a cashier, but had a number of other responsibilities. I assisted customers with finding products and earned commission off selling a number of different items. In my summer working here, I gained lots of valuable skills and experience including marketing and selling to customers, improved my communication skills, and working in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is often required.

I mainly worked in the box office selling tickets and handling customer service. I also took care of any other task that was needed including cleaning theaters and making sure movies are running smoothly.
