- Analyzed 5,200 maternity care claims for Graham County and researched the impact of rural hospital closures on maternal and infant health outcomes. - Provided pandemic-related technical assistance to weekly audience of over 100 health care stakeholders through COVID-19 Health Care Coalition webinars

- Developed a policy report on the use and abuse of opioids in Tennessee's workers' compensation system. - Put forth policy recommendations to mitigate these issues and foster collaboration among the Tennessee Department of Health and Bureau of Workers' Compensation.

- Created a regional economic report for the Southeast Tennessee Development District through the University of Tennessee, Knoxville's Smart Communities Initiative- Collected and analyzed demographic, socioeconomic, industrial, and health data to inform business, health, and social service development

During the spring 2016 semester I competed in the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center's annual Policy Challenge and was fortunate enough to win the challenge. I received a grand prize of $3,000 in the form of a scholarship. In my policy brief, I proposed a health-education and drug-awareness campaign aimed at mitigating opioid abuse, neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS), and unintended pregnancy in the Knox County area. The process allowed me to refine my research, critical thinking, communication, presentation and analytical abilities. In addition, it furthered my knowledge of the policy formation and implementation process. During the summer and fall of 2015 I served as an intern for the CIRPC, and prepared a working paper regarding electrical fatalities in the United States construction industry. The report aimed to identify common electrical safety issues and develop recommendations for improving electrical safety practices in construction. This was accomplished through literature review, data collection, and the application of categorical data analysis using the programming language R. Served as a teaching assistant for BUAD 100 within the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. BUAD 100 is a course for first-year business students designed to help them gain knowledge and experiences that will ease their transition to college, facilitate integration, develop strategies for personal and professional success, and provide the opportunity to explore academic and career options.

While attending Volunteer State Community College, I was fortunate enough to have been involved in the President's Ambassador program. Through the program I was able to network with business professionals, engage in public speaking events, work with fellow ambassadors in event planning/organizing, and gain a better understanding of the field of public relations.
