Hello, my name is Lucas. My goal in life, both career and personal, is to work towards becoming the most polished version of myself. I do not want there to be a day where I can't find something to improve upon further in my career or life. I will always keep pushing for a better tomorrow and building myself up so that I am never seeing a decline from within. To me, this has nothing to do with achieving happiness. It is more about never allowing myself to fall into complacency with the status quo. I have spent much of my life chasing the dream of becoming a dependable part of my family's business, Arctic Snow and Ice Control. Since I was seven I have been involved in the company in one way or another. When I turned twelve I began operating snow removal equipment to fill in for missing operators. I started working full time in the summers washing equipment after my freshman year of high school. I would go on to plowing snow during the winters in my own truck. When the time came I applied to Purdue University and left home in 2013 to start a new chapter of my life at college. It took me time to figure out how to leave my work boots at home and become a devoted student. Fast forward to 2015 and I knew that Purdue was for me after a short time away. I would be successful there because I gained a new appreciation for higher education. Today, I can say a part of this chase is coming to a bittersweet end. The real thrill has only just begun as I will be graduating from Purdue University on December 16, 2018 and saying goodbye to my academic life. I leave Purdue with fond memories of late nights studying with friends and learning how to unwind after a long week of exams. I know that I would not be half the man I am today if I never saw my time at Purdue through to the end. Now, I look ahead towards the near future with excitement because I know after the years spent learning about business at home and management at Purdue there is nothing I cannot handle.
