During my studies as a Chemical Engineering Student at Washington University in St. Louis, I realized that the oil and gas industries were adversely impacting our world, and I was heading down a path into that industry. I pivoted and pursued a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering specializing in renewable energy and energy efficiency. In my view, the way we can achieve a sustainable future is to first reduce the energy we are wasting. Then after making our "site" energy usage efficient, the amount of renewable energy we need to install to offset fossil fuels in our power plants is also reduced!
