I am in my fourth year at the University of Waterloo studying Honours Pure Mathematics with co-op and a Computing Minor.My past work experience includes:- Working for the Parks Canada Agency of the Government of Canada at the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area in Northwestern Ontario (Summer 2022)- Working for Farm Business Consultants, where I gained knowledge of Federal and Provincial personal income tax rules (Winter 2023 co-op term)- Working as a Tutor/Coordinator for the Math Tutoring Centre at the university (Fall 2023 co-op term)- Working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Pure Math Department at the university (Spring 2024 co-op term)Some of my other experiences include:- High school concert band and jazz band, where I was the section leader for the last two years.- The Royal Canadian Army Cadets, where I attained the Rank of Sergeant after two and a half years.- Being an Orientation Leader for the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo.- Volunteering with the Mathematics Society (MathSoc) office as an Office Manager in the Fall of 2022.- Volunteering with MathSoc as the VP Communications in the Spring 2023 term.I have always had an interest in mathematics, and have excelled in it throughout my academic life. My interest leans more toward pure and abstract mathematics, proofs, and generalizations of understood concepts. I am fond of the beauty and elegance that can be found in this area of study. I also appreciate the critical role that mathematics has played in the development of technology and the advancement of human knowledge. Since I started at university, I have developed an interest in computer science and software in general. I have also developed skills in programming and computer science concepts.My other interests and hobbies include music, outdoor activities, puzzles, and strategy board games.Instructors and co-workers have described me as thorough, efficient, and attentive to detail.Classmates have described me as motivated, dedicated to my studies, and excellent at explanations.I am set to graduate in August of 2026, and in the meantime, I intend to use my co-op work terms to gain experience and connections in the workforce. I will also continue to get involved at the University of Waterloo, MathSoc, and the Faculty of Mathematics.
