At the Ashland Specialty Ingredients site in Doel, Belgium, a wide variety of cellulosic products with applications in the pharmaceutical, food and personal care industry are produced. In my role as Quality Manager, my major responsibilities are:• lead a team of 16 people consisting of QA and QC experts• manage and improve the entire QMS process• ensure compliance to BRC, FSSC 22000, EXCiPACT and ISO9001 standards• iLIMS implementation• manage the complaint process from investigation to report out • coordinate customer audits and follow-up on timely finding closure• ensure all internal audits are performed timely and in a proper way• perform supplier audits at tollers, labs, warehouses, raw material and packaging suppliers• issue prevention by defining effective CAPA's and follow-up on effectiveness• elaborate validation approach for lab methods and several production processes• perform QRA's on production process, microbial risks and residual solvents• other experiences include product releases, batch records, pharmacopeia (USP, EP), JECFA (EC, FCC), deviations, cleaning validation, CCP, HACCP, QCE, lab design, OoS, document control, MOC, data integrity, supplier management, traceability, recall, stability, management review, KPI’s, …
