Local Boyz Group is one of the main suppliers for SPORTSDIRECT. Working in this company I was primarly based in the Ladieswear department conceptual design and production for woven and jersey as well as knitwear and outerwear brands such as; Firetrap, Golddigga, Lee Cooper, SoulCal & Co, Ocean Pacific, LA Gear, Hot Tuna and Kickers. I developed my experience of designing ranges for both Menswear and kidswear which included work for: Fabric, Firetrap, Pierre Cardin, Lee Cooper, Hot Tuna and Ocean Pacific respectively.Responsabilities:-Creating/visualising an idea and producing a design by hand or using computer-aided design (CAD)-Produce and create women’s, men’s, and children’s apparel, including, knitwear, casual wear, and seasonal clothing.-Meet with sales and management executives to discuss design ideas.-Creating new prints (All over prints and placement graphics).-Spot trends and interpreting them in a commercial, creative and customer focussed manner.-Interpreting emerging trends for the commercial product range.-Planning and developing ranges & Overseeing production.-Adapting existing designs for mass production.

I have the chance to design for brands as TKMAXX, Penney's, Primark, Kmart, Bonmarche, Evans and Peacocks in the ladieswear department. Responsabilities:-Creating/visualising an idea and producing a design by hand or using computer-aided design (CAD).-Keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colours and shapes for each brand.-Planning and developing ranges.-Working with others in the design team, such as buyers and forecasters, to develop products to meet a brief.-Understanding design from a technical perspective and developing technical specifications for designs.-Sourcing, selecting and buying fabrics as well as designing trims, fastenings and embellishments.-Adapting existing designs for mass production.-Overseeing production.
