Consultancy project for the United Nations Office for Project Services.• Analyzed and identified gaps and opportunities in existing climate policies for the mitigation of Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCP). • Identified sources and collected data related to GHG and SLCP, linking climate policies to their GHG emissions base.• Prepared, organized and developed workshops with stakeholders focusing on the prioritization of SLCP mitigation actions and identifying highly relevant mitigation projects.• Drafted policy briefs, reports, and various documents, effectively communicating policy recommendations to stakeholders.• Developed a short-lived climate pollutants and methane mitigation roadmap in Costa Rica and Panamá, with the current state of the country and the planned targets and indicators to monitore their mitigation actions.

• Developed a techno-economic evaluation of alternatives for the production and implementation of green hydrogen in Costa Rica.

In the Production and Characterization of Biocrudes Obtained Through Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) of Biomass Available in Costa Rica project of the University of Costa Rica.• Developed a conceptual design of a pilot plant for the hydrothermal liquefaction of pineapple stubble into biocrude to be used as a possible substitute to conventional fossil fuels.• Simulated the hydrothermal liquefaction process of the pilot plant in the Aspen Plus software to obtain mass and energy balances to be used in a life cycle analysis.• Carried out a life cycle analysis of the pilot plant with the software’s obtained results and theoretical knowledge to compare the process and evaluate its environmental impact.• Prepared reports and presentation of the state of the project for the supervisors.

In the Strengthening Community Water Management in the Caraigres Region project of the University of Costa Rica.• Lifted and organized a document with the information of communal water supply organizations (ASADAs) in the Caraigres Region that resulted in a contact list for the Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers, complementing the logistics’ organization of the Institution.• Summarized technical information in a series of educational materials for the understanding of a non-technical audience, facilitating the training of managers of water-provider organizations in the usage of a spreadsheet tool called “Improvement and Efficiency Plan”. The tool evaluates and enhances the management of the organization’s water supply and treatment service.• Networked with public and academic employees to acquire relevant information for the educational materials.• Supervised volunteer students from the University of Costa Rica who contributed to the project.

• Instructed and assisted groups of fourteen undergraduate students with laboratory experiments in organic chemistry courses.• Assisted in the training of undergraduate students in the usage of laboratory equipment such as pH meter, centrifuge, distillation equipment, rotatory evaporator, among others.• Worked intensively with undergraduate students to improve their abilities to write scientific and technical reports.

• Performed theoretical and experimental research work in the Chemical Engineering laboratories of the University of Costa Rica and the CENIBiot for the synthesis and characterization of a biopolymer to be used with medical purposes.• Elaborated reports of the experimental procedures to be followed as well as the main results that were obtained and their respective analysis, simplifying job planning, development in the laboratory, and the decision making based on the results obtained.
