My name is Lucia Stainer, and I majored in aerospace engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. I chose to become an aerospace engineer because I am fascinated with the idea of space exploration. This is because I like the idea of exploring what is mostly unknown to humanity.I can bring many computer skills to the workplace and would be willing to learn any skills I do not already know. I am comfortable with most Microsoft Office programs, can also code in both Java and C++, and have had some experience coding using Arduino, as well as in Visual Basic and BASIC. I am very comfortable with using MATLAB as well, having used it in both my classes and my internships. Additionally, I have experience using the astrodynamics softwares FreeFlyer and STK. I have 8 years of experience using CAD software, specifically Autodesk Inventor and NX. While it is not necessarily an engineering or coding skill, I also have some experience with graphic design in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, as well as 2D game design in Unity. My qualifications are not just limited to computer skills. I am well-versed in soldering, basic woodworking, breadboarding, and 3D printing, especially with MakerBot software. I am also moderately proficient, but not fluent, in the Spanish language. Finally, I am adept at writing coherently, meaning that I would be comfortable writing technical reports.My main priority in life is to be happy and to grow as a person. Any job experience where I can do something I love, all while expanding my skill set is one worth having.
