About Lucía Carreño
I am a Biochemist, with experience in healthcare and clinical and basic research. Currently, my professional focus is on clinical research, specifically in the area of pharmacological studies. My work in CURF Central Laboratory immersed me in the world of Clinical Trials, working with a multidisciplinary team, to care for volunteer patients, take biological samples, handle and process them, ensuring all ethical aspects that contribute to the protection of the human person in clinical trials, based on Good Clinical Practices (GCP). I interact daily with the research staff (PIs, Coordinators and Monitors) to ensure complete performance in each patient visit to the site, considering all the procedural standards that make up the quality of the processes (SOPs). With the desire and commitment to contribute to public health through research, in my beginnings as a Biochemist, I worked in a Basic Research group, participating in Cellular and Molecular Biology projects as a CONICET doctoral fellow. There I began to develop both reading and writing scientific papers in English and learning microscopy, molecular biology and cell culture techniques. Here, too, my interest in the area of Statistics and Data processing began, which I still maintain today, and which I will continue to foster in the future in relation to Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence related to health science. In my previous experience in the healthcare/hospital area, I developed technical and analytical skills in Internal and External Quality Control of the Clinical Laboratory, learning from the basis of Quality Management, how to issue quality results to contribute to the health of each person, both in outpatient, emergency and hospital settings.I continue to seek to expand my skills in clinical research and data analysis, based on effective and respectful interpersonal communication and teamwork.
