In 2020, I took the opportunity to deepen my expertise in the electronic payments industry by joining a team focused on developing and maintaining payment gateways.Initially, I was responsible for building reconciliation automation, integrating various payment solutions, and expanding the gateway's feature set. Later, I led the design and development of a QR code-based payment gateway, which eventually evolved into a full-fledged POS system with integrated electronic payments.Additionally, I designed and implemented a QR code-based transaction gateway for World Youth Day, which managed the meal supply and delivery for pilgrims.My role also involved onboarding new developers, collaborating closely with mobile app teams, reverse-engineering legacy POS systems to integrate electronic payments, setting up basic CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, and implementing real-time capabilities with SignalR, among other responsibilities.

At the beginning of 2015, I embraced a new challenge: transitioning into the financial sector and focusing exclusively on the .NET stack.I joined a development team working closely with the finance department, applying AGILE methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD). This collaborative environment allowed me to contribute to building robust solutions aligned with business needs.I developed ASP.NET web applications using technologies such as ASP.NET MVC, WebForms, WebAPI, and C#. Additionally, I worked with SQL Server databases, utilizing both SQL and T-SQL for data management.On the frontend, I leveraged HTML, CSS, JSON, JavaScript, and TypeScript with AngularJS to create responsive and user-friendly interfaces.

In late 2013, I was seeking new experiences and a fresh challenge, both personally and professionally. One of my lifelong ambitions has been to live abroad and immerse myself in different cultures. At the same time, I wanted to grow in my career by taking on new technical challenges.GB&Smith provided the perfect opportunity to achieve both goals. During my time there, I worked extensively with C#, Java, and ASP.NET MVC, utilizing tools such as Windows Server, Visual Studio, and Eclipse.I also gained experience with key Windows APIs, including Active Directory, Team Foundation Server, and SharePoint, while working within an AGILE environment.This experience was instrumental in expanding my technical expertise and deepening my understanding of international work environments.

In 2011, while working on my master’s thesis, I was eager to gain practical experience in a large organization. This opportunity came at Oporto Hospital Centre, a group of hospitals in the Oporto district with nearly 5,000 employees and a dedicated IT department.They were in need of an engineer to design, model, and implement a web platform to manage teaching, education, and research activities across the entire hospital network.During this project, I worked with various tools and technologies:Modeling: Visual Paradigm and OmniGraffleBackend: ASP.NET and C#Frontend: HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSSDatabase: OracleInteroperability: Web ApisBy applying concepts of Human-Computer Interaction and Usability, I developed a platform that could be easily used by all hospital staff, improving operational efficiency across the board.

Before entering college I decided that I should help my parents paying my studies.I started as waiter in a pub, then in music events, finally decided to work in a supermarket as a sales assistant.During this 5 years I learned how to deal with customers, made some good friends and started to be the person I am today.
