Description - [ ] Troubleshoot and manage our in-house big data platform- [ ] Improve system performance through OS or software configuration tuning- [ ] Improve big data pipeline efficiencies and perform performance tuning for user queries, complex query plan analysis, configuration settings, optimization, using technologies like Spark, Hadoop MapReduce, Cascading.- [ ] Involve in maintaining and enhancing our performance monitoring and analysis tools/frameworks, workflow and data compute and execution engines, etc- [ ] Actively monitor production using various internal tool as related to user experiences in query engines, and track performance profiles over time and investigate changes therein- [ ] Proactively analyze performance metrics and logs to identify inefficiencies and opportunities to improve for scalability and performanc- [ ] Actively engage our internal users, who are our customers, to analyze their respective use cases to address scale and performance demands- [ ] Provide thought leadership and helpful feedbacks to the rest of data team in our processes, support models, performance monitoring, analysis metrics, frameworks and tools from internal users’ perspective so as to improve their experiences and productivities.Skills- [ ] 3+ years of hands on experience on managing Hadoop clusters- [ ] 3+ years of experience with cloud-based provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting (preferably AWS)- [ ] Experience in puppet, terraform, ansible, etc.- [ ] Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing big data applications in Spark or Hadoop MapReduce, Cascading- [ ] Strong debugging skills in Linux environment for performance issues- [ ] Proficiency in Python or Java

Duties and Responsibilities : - [ ] Understand and take responsibilities for all operational workflows and standard operating procedures, down to a granular, detailed level. - [ ] Help maintain an F5/Consul/Nginx / MySQL operations stack.- [ ] Measurement, optimization, and tuning of system performance and ensuring that systems will run reliably and are highly available in a 24/7 production environment. - [ ] Supporting deploys with necessary configuration work and monitoring.- [ ] Operate in a cloud environment with the proper mindset and approach to automation and redundancy in systems- [ ] Be mindful of security requirements when designing solutions.- [ ] Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation policy by responding to system and emergency problems.- [ ] Maintain high standards for consumer and customer service touch-points affected by operations. Basic Qualifications : - [ ] The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience with managing SaaS applications infrastructures.- [ ] Mastery of Linux including configuration, networking, hardening, shells, package management and basic scripting.- [ ] Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware- [ ] Experience specifically with Centos Linux a plus.- [ ] Experience with nginx.- [ ] Strong experience with at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, Ruby).- [ ] Experience with a configuration management tool (Puppet, Chef, Ansible). Nice to have Qualifications : - [ ] Experience with tools such as Terraform, Rundeck- [ ] Experience with CI / CD tools (Jenkins, Chef, Consul)- [ ] Experience with Docker containers not required but is a plus.
