David is an award-winning writer whose work has appeared in CFO Magazine, The Denver Post, Baltimore Sun, Austin Statesman, News & Observer, Triangle Business Journal, Salt Lake Tribune, the Huffington Post, and other publications. He has just completed his first novel, a post-Cold War thriller.An inventor by nature, he has multiple patents to his credit. His Fix-A-Latch invention--a simple solution to a ubiquitous door-related problem--is sold nationwide in over 4000 retail stores including The Home Depot and Lowe's. He is the managing member of Fix-A-Latch USA, LLC. David has been a senior advisor to EverEdge IP, a New Zealand-based intellectual property advisory company as well as a marketing/business development consultant to the investment advisory industry.In 2004, he co-founded Contango Capital Advisors, the wealth management subsidiary of Zions Bancorporation (ZION) where he was President and chief operating officer.Prior to Contango, he was founder and CEO of Panoptic Solutions, a provider of web-based training and education to the financial services industry. Panoptic was sold to Zions Bancorporation in 2004. He is a former Executive Director, Head of Private Banking in San Francisco, and U.S. Market Management Committee member for Swiss Bank and, subsequently, UBS. He was also a Principal at Montgomery Securities in San Francisco and a capital markets specialist for Oppenheimer in Houston.David earned his undergraduate degree from George Washington University, a master's in international journalism from Baylor University, and a juris doctor from Tulane Law School. He studied at the University of Neuchatel, Switzerland; the University of Nice, France; and the Imperial College in London. He speaks three languages, is a former U.S. delegate to the United Nations Graduate Conference in Geneva, and is an honor graduate of the U.S.M.C. Officer Candidate School.He has been an adjunct business professor and has been a board member for numerous civic and business organizations including Special Olympics, North Carolina Information Technology Association, Ute Football Conference, OE Enterprises, and others.
