About Lucie Wright

Passionate history educator excited to transition into curriculum development full-time as a new member of the Choices Program team. As a high school history teacher since 2015, I have equipped young people to better understand, analyze, and transform the world around them. Close relationships, community-building, and rich curriculum have been at the core of my teaching practice. I am my best self facilitating learning with my students about complex, important topics – and when designing the materials for those learning experiences. I have been fortunate to teach at public and independent schools where I have had the opportunity to create original curricula. Whether designing elective courses from scratch (e.g., History of Schools and Society), new projects (e.g., Presentation to Medical Students: Debunking Myths of Race and Racism), or lessons (e.g., “No más bébes”: La lucha por justicia reproductiva en Los Ángeles), I love creating rigorous instructional materials that engage students in historical and contemporary issues. I was grateful to have had the opportunity to spend the 2023-24 academic year studying Spanish full-time in the U.S. and Mexico.
