After a PhD in population genetics, I have lead the DS section at the Uppsala Monitoring Centre (a WHO-CC), on its journey to advance the science of pharmacovigilance. I then joined ALPHA10X, a startup focused on smart investments, as the CTO where I led the R&D and product teams. I have now decided to join McKinsey, to use my strategic and analytical skills to create significant and lasting positive impact for our Life Sciences clients.With a constant eye on the bigger picture, I am naturally inclined towards research and innovation. I am well-versed in the current trends in data science, in particular in the domain of Natural Language Processing. I also understand the challenges posed by the technologies (e.g. ethical, infrastructural, technical) and can build sustainable environments to support good practices in the domain. Despite enjoying the complexity of state-of-the-art, multi-million-parameters models to solve problems, I do not seek complexity when it can be avoided, and I will pragmatically favor simpler solutions if their value-for-effort balance exceeds the other alternatives. In other words, I care more about making an impact than using fancy technology. As a person, I am curious, driven, independent, empathetic, I absolutely love problem solving and learning new stuff. I also love helping others, teaching, coaching and building warm, healthy and effective working cultures. I can operate on loosely defined grounds and relish in the buzz of novel ideas. “Yes, we can!”. I have lived in different countries, mainly France, Japan and Sweden, and have an appetite for diversity.
