Formerly known as Code From Zero, Aedify is an education and gaming company that teaches practical skills with an evidence-based curriculum that makes learning fun and maximizes skill retention. I co-founded Code From Zero in early 2020 to teach MBAs and business professionals data analytics using Python, with the mission to increase data literacy in the modern, data-driven world. We have since taught 50+ data analytics classes, both in-person and online.We recently re-branded to Aedify to expand our educational offerings. Our new personal finance computer game is a space shooter role-playing simulation that encourages students to apply personal finance skills in ways designed to mimic the real-world financial system. After the COVID-19 pandemic forced Fortress Global to close its doors, I returned to my passion for public administration and preserving America's great outdoors by joining the National Park Service Strategic Planning Team. Working under the Comptroller, I formulated budgetary recommendations and prepared the Department of the Interior and Congressional justifications. It was also my responsibility to communicate budgetary information and processes to senior management, government officials, Congress, and the public. Perhaps the most interesting part of my work was coordinating the Formulation Team’s efforts to prepare NPS leadership to testify before Congressional Appropriations hearings and responding to Congressional inquiries.

After graduate school I joined Fortress Global, a consulting firm founded by former US Navy SEALS based in Puerto Rico and Kenya. I worked primarily with energy companies and port authorities to assess export opportunities in terms of commercial strategy and regulatory feasibility. I also managed site exploration projects that involved drone flights and imagery collection. Back in the office, I ensured ITAR and EAR compliance for contracts and assessment reports, oversaw HR/Talent Acquisition, and led a three-member development team to achieve growth goals and complete operational improvements. I also directed five administrative staff members, balanced competing draws on their time, managed communication, and resolved office conflict.

During my graduate studies at Harvard, I applied and was selected for a competitive national program in consulting, strategic planning, and public management. As part of my work, I analyzed and evaluated a national park's budget and operations to develop a report identifying cost-savings and financial strategies for adjusting to a potential funding gap.

After graduating from UCF I launched Standard Hydro, a for-profit social enterprise backed by a Resolution Project Grant and the Clinton Global Initiative. Our goal was to prove the viability of shade house hydroponics in the Caribbean and to train local farmers on drought-resistant techniques. I hired and managed a team of five employees to handle daily operations, including everything from planting and harvesting to construction and delivery. I also oversaw our customer engagement strategy, which led to seven restaurants and grocer customers. At one point, I created an address system in locations where one did not exist in order to begin home deliveries. While running Standard Hydro, I had the amazing opportunity to serve as a volunteer firefighter in Basseterre. The lessons that I learned there help me remain cool even when the heat is turned up! After three years we had turned a profit, published about our work, and began the process of turning over the farm to our trainees.

During my undergraduate studies at UCF, I served as an intern for a semester at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain. I held a secret clearance and participated in meetings with senior-level U.S. government and foreign government officials. My principal responsibility was to gather all-source intelligence and write the daily political brief for the desk in Washington. I also had the opportunity to compose talking points for the ambassador and draft Spain's portion of the Trafficking in Persons Report. After seeing some of my work products, the deputy chief of mission invited me to the Country Team meetings to collate information from section heads for distribution to relevant decisionmakers – a first for interns.
