    During my tenure at Sierra Nevada, I played a crucial role in establishing a Software Asset Management (SAM) program supporting diverse engineering disciplines, particularly in the design of the "Dream Chaser" space plane. This initiative extended to the creation of the Sierra Space Corp, a private entity split from SNC. Given my success managing assets for Dream Chaser programs, I was recruited to sustain support for this critical project.As the Sierra Space License Manager, my primary responsibility was overseeing licenses for engineering tools and software throughout the organization. I meticulously tracked and maintained comprehensive information about all engineering tools, including their purpose, types of licenses, users, primary business owner, and license servers.As the License Manager, I managed procurement and renewals for engineering tools, driving procurement and approvals, monitoring license key acquisition and delivery, and preparing for tool renewals. Collaborating directly with procurement, I identified cost-effective licensing strategies, providing analytical insights into tool usage. I defined KPIs to optimize tool usage and removed unused license checkouts.The License Manager monitored and reported on tool usage metrics, including usage per engineer or team, tool idle time, extended tool usage periods, peak tool usage, license request blockage, and usage warnings. I identified instances of redundant tools and worked with the Engineering IT team to explore consolidation opportunities.
