Research And Policy OfficerCoalition For Racial Equality And Rights (Crer) May 2022 - PresentGlasgow, ScotlandAs a Policy and Research Officer, I am responsible for collecting, analysing and presenting high-quality evidence to influence local and national policy relating to race equality, human rights and wider themes of equality and inclusion. This includes producing new research and analysis, routinely contributing to policy consultations and roundtables, and providing input to several expert reference groups.In this role, I have led on research projects and strategic policy initiatives focussing on ethnicdiversity within Scotland’s public sector workforce, tackling online hate speech and hate crime, andpeople’s experiences of interpersonal, cultural and institutional racism in Scotland. This includessupporting responsive research efforts relating to emerging media, policy and public inquiryengagements, ensuring that CRER can provide commentary and analysis on relevant current events.I am also responsible for the ongoing development of CRER’s PSED Portal – an online archive ofPublic Sector Equality Duty documentation for Scottish public bodies – and have used this resourceto assess workforce composition and recruitment practices regarding ethnicity and monitor progressagainst the Race Equality Framework for Scotland 2016-2030.Additional responsibilities include maintaining relationships with partnership organisations andother key stakeholders as part of our long-term strategic policy initiatives and presenting researchfindings to diverse audiences. This includes designing and delivering campaigns to raise awareness ofCRER’s research outputs and co-running a series of Black History walking tours within Glasgow’s citycentre for audiences ranging from sector specialists to the general public and education groups. -
