I am a jewelry artist and have been enameling for over 35 years. My biggest inspiration was my mother, Beryl Sheldon, who also was an enamelist, and created a unique enameling technique in the 1950"s which I am doing today. I do three different types of enameling. Two ancient forms, cloisonne and champleve, and the one more modern technique of my mothers, I call "Jeweled Enamels". I enamel on pure silver (.999) as it is a easy and beautiful metal to work with. I prefer working in transparent enamel colors as they are more jewel like, but I also contrast them with some more opaque colors upon occasion.My designs are mostly drawn from nature as well as my color palette. I enjoy doing more traditional designs, such as Victorian stain glass patterns. As I create my enamel pieces, I like to combine them with gemstones, beads and pearls. Most of my work is one of a kind, but I do have some pieces that are cast and can be easily repeated.
