This role also involved heavy contribution to the development of the systems engineering process used by multiple international teams. More generally my position as a Systems Engineer at Harris C4i involved applying the systems engineering methodology to assist in developing and delivering IP-based inter-operable communications solutions for customers in Defence, aviation, public safety and other markets. This position encompassed:- meeting with project stakeholders;- understanding customer needs;- performing market analysis;- performing requirements management (requirements analysis, producing system/subsystem specifications, requirements traceability (RTVM, VCRM), conducting requirements reviews (e.g. SRR) with the customer);- producing system-level design documentation (system block diagrams, system interconnection diagrams, hardware drawings, functional design, system architecture, system setup instructions, product manuals, compliance matrixes) and presenting in design reviews with the customer (e.g. PDR, CDR);- working with software engineers to guide software design, implementation and defect fixes;- producing test procedures, plans and conducting customer-facing test events for systems integration, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT);- providing training to end-users on site (operators and maintainers);- providing on-site and telephone technical assistance to customers as part of support contracts.
