Sr. Team Manager @ Meta Reality Labs
CurrentServing as the Team Manager and Tech Lead of the Liquid Crystal & Polarization Optics team within Reality Labs Research (RLR). Our mission is to enable breakthrough technologies in liquid crystal and polarization optics for viewing optics miniaturization and display performance optimization in next-generation AR glasses and VR headsets. The core technology of the team is liquid crystal polarization holograms (LCPH) and their applications in AR/VR/MR display systems. Examples of our R&D portfolio include: 1. Advancing Polarization Volume Gratings (PVG) waveguides for AR smart glasses.2. Developing apochromatic diffractive based folding optics towards sunglasses style VR display systems. 3. Enabling novel eye-tracking, imaging sensing functionalities in space constrained optical systems. 4. Addressing accommodation vergence conflict to provide nature focus cues in AR/VR displays. 5. Improving optical efficiency & image quality (such as chromatic aberration corrections, ghost mitigations) in VR viewing optics & display modules.6. Exploring key technology building blocks for foveated display systems.
