One common motto for us Engineers is that “We find Solutions,” no matter the challenge.I developed this mindset very early in my life, years before my love for engineering was conceived.Growing up I was always obsessed with building things. I vividly recall building treehouses with my cousins which was one of our favourite activities. Any time we stumbled upon a design challenge, instead of giving up and playing with something else, I was always the one to troubleshoot for solutions. This drive to find solutions is manifested in all aspects of my life; whether it involves assisting a friend with a DIY home shelving project or brainstorming solutions with entrepreneurs. When I served as the Research and Development lead, I went above and beyond while in the prototype phase of the Provision Peeler. We had to make several modifications to perfect it and I ensured that we delivered before the deadline. My greatest motivation comes from overcoming obstacles, creating impact, and providing solutions. Consequently, some of my career achievements are:1. Researched, designed, developed, and built an automatic Provision Peeler for the Agricultural industry. 2. Collaborated with the Research and Development team to introduce plastics as the predominant material in designing carnival costumes, instead of wire. We developed prototypes that included the moulding of bra frames and hand bands. 3. Worked with a team to construct a fully functional solar panel-powered house. We built the house from start to finish. 4. Served as the Project Coordinator for a fabric maintenance offshore project for the Cassia A & B turnaround contract. 5. Worked with a team to modify the Belgrove Gantry which made it less noisy and more effective.6. Designed and executed a successful social media strategy plan for the food business - Ducky’s Ortoire Organic Roast Seafood which resulted in sales increases.
