I'm a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Campinas (Unicamp). I'm broadly interested in software and algorithmic problems that arise in Bioinformatics. During my master's, I focused on genome rearrangement problems and applied them to phylogenetic inference. In my PhD, I'm interested in developing efficient string processing algorithms to allow low-cost analysis of high-throughput sequencing data in the context of cancer research. In particular, I'm focusing on developing better algorithms for gene fusion detection from RNA sequencing data.
