I am a recognized expert in digital imaging and screening technologies and applications. I am an aerospace engineer by trade who started his career in the Canadian military and later went into IT consulting and imagery-related product development. I hold a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from the Royal Military College (RMC) of Canada in Kingston, ON, as well as a Master's degree in Imaging Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, NY.After six years as founding CEO of LynX Inspection developing cutting-edge industrial inspection solutions based on radiography and 3D machine vision, the adventure continues with the founding of GILab Solutions in 2023, a subsidiary of Gilardoni S.p.A, one of the leading X-ray manufacturer based in Italy. GILab Solution is now the Computer Vision Innovation Center for Gilardoni that develops powerful software solutions for its NDT product lines taking advantage of unique AI and 3D X-ray technologies.As the former VP of Product Management for Optosecurity (now part of Vanderlande), I helped develop a revolutionary centralised remote screening solution for aviation security that was first deployed at Brussels and Amsterdam Schiphol international airports in 2015 and is now becoming the trend for most airports around the world. Finally, I went back to NS to become the Air Vehicle Software Engineering Officer for the CP-140 Aurora Maritime Patrol Aircraft, responsible for all the embedded software on board the Aurora and in charge of a team of 20 engineers. I retired from the military at the rank of Major.
