Post Doctoral Research Fellow in CO2 Sequestration in a project funded by Australian National Low Emissions from Coal (ANLEC). This project is designed to research and evaluate the applicability of adapting a current, commercially available, borehole logging technology (manufactured by WellDog, USA) to measure injection products in time for a field scale trial in 2020. Roles included:- Practical and theoretical knowledge in carbon capture and storage policies. - Dynamic geochemical simulations of large scale CO2 injection scenarios.- Modelling of aquifer re-injection scenarios with CSG production water. - CSG production water treatment processes and water quality indicators.- Provided presentations and reports for the applicability of WellDog tools to ANLEC, a multi-million dollar ($100M+) funding body for CO2 storage across Australian Basins. - Mathematical modelling and MS Excel macro development. - Environmental impact assessments of CO2 injection scenarios. - Experience in data analytics and visualisation software e.g. GIS, SigmaPlot.

Thesis Title: "Chemical stimulation techniques for increasing the permeability of coal seams"The project formed part of the Petroleum Engineering arm of the UQ Centre for Coal Seam Gas (CCSG), a multi-million dollar research organisation founded in 2011 to harness the extensive capability of UQ researchers. Position highlights include:- Combined project budget = $750,000. - Lead author and chief investigator for numerous conference and peer reviewed publications.- Multiple technical presentations and reporting for major Oil/Gas operators including Origin, QGC, Arrow Energy and Santos. - Product presentations for novel CSG stimulation treatments provided direction for current CSG well production operations. - Responsible for the design, procurement and installation of several major rigs currently in operation across UQ. - Experience with the specification and procurement of pumping, flow metering, pressure, temperature and analytical equipment. - Chiefly responsible for driving additional projects with a major Oil/Gas and mining fluids producer. - Responsible for the funding for additional projects through collaborations with multiple UQ based departments. - Highly able communicator with experience presenting products to industry at multiple international Oil/Gas conferences. - Responsible for the creation and supervision of CSG based final year research projects for undergraduate students.
