As the User Experience Lead at the Met Office, I lead the competency of User-Centred Design. I manage an internal team of talented user-centred design professionals, such as User Researchers, Interaction Designers and Service Designers, who create and maintain critical services for a range of Met Office customers and users. I provide the user experience strategy and vision for the team, providing opportunities to learn, grow and flourish. I am responsible for ensuring Met Office teams have suitable and sustainable user-centred design resources for their projects, which includes managing external partnerships. As part of my role, I run a thriving UX Community of Practice which promotes consistency and sharing of best practice across the organisation and with our partners.

Product Manager for the Met Office website which serves millions of users with vital weather information when it matters. Administering cognitive assessments to patients on a daily basis, assisting in the running of the department and working on research based projects. Includes building a rapport and competently communicating with patients and families, efficiently managing work and research projects whilst working within a team of healthcare professionals. Experienced handling sensitive data and making sound ethical decisions.

Employed over the summer months to responsibly lead a team of 15-17 year old young people working on a community project as part of a government scheme. For this role I had to excel in leadership skills, but also had to be compassionate and empathetic when dealing with sensitive situations as I was responsible for participant’s well-being.
