I have been a registered nurse within the acute clinical setting for 8 years and am now looking for a role in the community where I can use my transferable skills in preventative health care. I have worked in a variety of specialities across the UK and Australia. The areas I have worked in range from Chronic Renal Disease, Gastroenterology through to Oncology and Palliative Care. My aim has always been to gain a holistic understanding of complex disease management within healthcare.Having worked in multiple specialist areas I now have a real insight into a range of chronic disease's, their clinical management and importance of prevention services. Alongside a range of clinical skills and knowledge, I have astute leadership and communication skills. I have managed large multi-disciplinary team's regularly, in highly acute and busy ward environment's, ensuring patient- centred care and advocacy are at the core of complex decision making. I have spent time mentoring patient's and carers about the importance of healthy choices and lifestyle promotion, which I believe is imperative for reducing burden on the acute services.
