For this research experience, I was part of two research projects. My project, under the guidance of Dr. Anant God bole, studied classic graph theory properties such as degree, diameter, chromatic number, independence number, and degree sequence of the involution derangement graph. I presented “Involution Derangement Graphs” at the REU conference organized by Clemson University (2020), and presented at the Young Mathematicians Conference organized by the Ohio State University (2020). For the second project, under the supervision of Dr. Fernando Piñero, my research focused on the minimum rank of a graph 𝐺 over a field whose pattern is the same as that of the adjacency matrix of 𝐺. At JMM in January 2021, I presented “Minimum Rank for Regular Bipartite Graphs”, within a Special Session. In addition, I presented within the Special Session on Algebraic Combinatorixx designed for Women in Algebraic Combinatorics as part of the Canadian Mathematical Society Winter Meeting.

Along with my research partner, I worked on a project studying the combinatorial representation theory of Lie algebras. Our results culminated in the manuscript “On Kostant’s weight qmultiplicity formula for 𝔰𝔩4(C)” which was accepted for publication in Applicable Algebra in Engineering, Communication and Computing. I presented our results to the MSRI community and subsequently presented at several math conferences including SACNAS and JMM.
