I graduated Alexander Hamilton High School in Los Angeles in June 2019 and am currently taking two gap years to help children with disabilities around the world. I was born with cerebral palsy as a result of oxygen deprivation for five minutes at birth, and I have both physical and intellectual disabilities. I have never let my challenges stop me! I work tirelessly to make sure that young people like me, who are living in the developing world, also receive quality health and education, and experience the joy of sport and participation in society. I believe that “you are never too young to help children!”I have been an international spokesperson and advocate for young people with disabilities since 2013. In this capacity, I have raised millions of dollars to help young people with disabilities all over the world. I have spoken at the United Nations, with President Obama, Senators and Representatives in Washington DC, and government ministers in Jamaica, Brazil, Azerbaijan, Bosnia Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Kosovo---all working together to make this world a better place for all people, but especially for people with disabilities. I have also spoken to over 50,000 students at over 100 schools about the importance of acceptance and inclusion.On November 18, 2019, the UNICEF Executive Director, Henrietta Fore, appointed me to be a “Champion” member of Generation Unlimited (a partnership between the United Nations and private sector partners to help young people reach their full potentials).
