Dedicated and motivated sustainability professional with 4+ years of work in agriculture and environmental fields. Strong project management, community engagement, and strategic thinking skills. Taking action on climate change and environmental regeneration drives me both personally and in my professional career, and I am looking for a position at a company where I can leverage my experience and passion to have an impact. After graduating from Georgetown University with a degree in Environmental Biology, I spent a year interning on an organic farm at Castle Hot Springs Resort to do hands-on environmental stewardship. While I learned about sustainable growing methods on the farm, I noticed that there were several opportunities to improve the overall sustainability at the resort to match our efforts on the farm. I went above and beyond my intern job description to develop a sustainability plan that I then presented to the General Manager. After gaining their support, I managed the cross-functional implementation of the plan across five departments which achieved us a sustainability certification through the AZ sustainability alliance. I shared my vision, built and managed a team, and followed through to achieve our end result. My next position took me to supporting and building local food systems at the Agricultural Institute of Marin. I wore many hats here, including managing volunteers, re-starting the farm education program after a Covid-19 hiatus, and working on storytelling through grant writing and promotional materials. Some highlights from my work:- After careful analysis of our organization’s volunteer needs and restraints, I chose the best software and implemented a new system, increasing our efficiency by 5x and doubled our volunteer pool. - I co-authored four sustainability-focused grant proposals totaling over $10 million awarded, in addition to contributing to donor and client communications. - I put together marketing materials to educate the public about the benefits of purchasing from local producers and to tell the producers’ stories in an engaging way.
