About Lucy Nelson
Much of my experience has been in the not for profit sector. Firstly founding Tommy's in the late 1980's with two brilliant obstetricians, Ian Fergusson and Anthony Kenney and for the past 20 years as Governor and latterly Chair of Governors at Port Regis in Dorset. I also served as a Director of Mark Birley Associates and the Catholic Building Society. My home life centres on breeding and producing Hanoverian horses at Forest Lodge Stud for dressage and eventing and it keeps me very busy. I also have a wonderful garden which is open to the public. I had the honour of being High Sheriff of Somerset for 2015 - 2016. In August 2016 I have been asked to be one of the Deputy Lieutenants of Somerset, working with the Lord Lieutenant, Annie Maw on various projects in Somerset. My new position as a Trustee of the Somerset Community Foundation, will further focus my interest and work on voluntary sector projects in Somerset.
