I undertook this role to gain more leadership experience and this required excellent organisation as I managed both this role, my course work and my dissertation.

A voluntary placement working alongside hand weaver Line Nilsen. The role included making warps, threading looms, organizing samples and applying headers, helping set up the new dye lab, buying equipment, foraging, dying hanks of yarn and loom research. This was a weeks placement that helped me gain confidence within a studio environment and allowed me to take my own initiative to set up their dye lab. The experience was invaluable as she taught me keys tricks and knowledge to become a freelance weaver.

I was trained to measure feet and give professional appropriate advice on suitable footwear to the consumer. Both my team working skills and confidence improved throughout my time here as it was a hands on role working the shop floor.
