I work for the Disarmament and Security Centre (DSC) as Programme Manager. The DSC is a not-for-profit, charitable organisation based in Aotearoa, New Zealand. We are a small, busy NGO that focuses on disarmament issues, primarily issues surrounding nuclear weapons. Through this role I oversee the DSC's key day to day disarmament programmes and activities, as well as managing the key administrative and funding obligations of the Centre. Primarily I work on: public outreach, disarmament education, event management, website and digital outreach management, social media, not-for-profit management (accounts, project management and accountability), managing staff, supporting and overseeing our campus club UCDisarm, as well as coordinating research projects. I have ten years experience in the not-for-profit industry and I have a thorough understanding of the sector.I was part of the New Zealand civil society delegation to the United Nations Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons negotiations in June and July 2017.I was the recipient of the Loxley Quaker Peace and Service Award for 2018.Currently serving on the Aotearoa, New Zealand Public Advisory Committee for Disarmament and Arms Control (PACDAC) for the 2022-25 term.
