Lucy Star was born from a love of the past, with a keen interest in archeology, mythology and the natural world, I have combined my passions and immortalised my finds, casting them in eco-registered gold and silver. This exciting role allowed me to design a verity of very different collections for different customers, using a wide range of materials, I Worked mainly in photoshop with some hand drawing for this large Far East supplier that is a leader in using recycled metals producing high quality fashion jewellery. I designed for US brands including TJX and Macy's.

Over the course of 14 years I was Senior Designer at this high street fashion jewellery supplier, a rare company in the high street industry where most samples are still hand made by the designers using a wide range of materials. As well as managing a number of key accounts, I also contributed significantly to design and direction for M&S (all ranges).

Owning my own business gave me an understanding of the entire design and production process and the opportunity to build on past experience in press, sales and retail. Designing and producing pieces to show at both London and Paris Fashion Weeks, collaborating with All Saints and Urban Outfitters, and selling worldwide.

I was responsible for finding clients and developing existing relationships. I managed journalist relations to arrange editorial and product placement and organised press days and catwalk shows. I was also responsible for training and supervising work-placement students.

I was responsible for the everyday running of this successful contemporary fashion boutique. This included all management duties for the store and a sales team of eight staff.
