The Board employed me as a Consultant to be interim CEO of DBNSW to lead the organisation for the time it took to recruit their new Chief Executive.

PA first invited me to be a Consultant for a 3 month contract to help reimagine and restart National Events for the Membership following the Covid-19 pandemic. Following the end of the contract PA created the new position Sport Operations Manager and I was fortunate to be the inaugural leader. In this role at Paddle Australia, the national governing body for paddling sports, I played a vital role in managing, coordinating, and promoting competitive and recreational paddling throughout Australia. Working closely with state paddling associations, clubs, and international federations, I spearheaded key initiatives and achieved notable successes.My responsibilities included developing a strategic plan for sport operations, fostering stakeholder relationships with international and domestic bodies, and overseeing various committees responsible for different paddle disciplines. Additionally, I managed approximately 15 national-level competitions, including those crucial for Australian team selections. Furthermore, I led the selection and coordination of national teams for various paddle disciplines to compete in prestigious global events.In my newly created role, I refocused the organisation on best practices for participation, performance, competitions, safety, education, coaching, and volunteering. I also made strategic hires, recruiting qualified professionals to strengthen the Sport Operations department.Additionally, I initiated the development of a business plan for Paddle Education, aligning it with the objectives of the broader strategic plan for paddling in Australia. This initiative aimed to enhance educational opportunities and support the growth of paddling in the country.Overall, as a Sport Operations Manager at Paddle Australia, I made significant contributions to the paddling community, championing excellence in operations, competition, and athlete development while promoting a culture of integrity, safety and education.

As the CEO of Equestrian Australia, my key responsibilities included reporting to a board of elected Directors and ensuring strategic and business planning, as well as extensive reporting for the board and major stakeholders. I successfully managed relationships with diverse stakeholder groups including equestrian state branches, the Australian Olympic Committee, Paralympics Australia, Sport Australia, the Federation Internationale Equestre, and partners. With full profit and loss responsibility, I effectively handled income and revenue streams, contributing to the financial success of the organisation. Additionally, I demonstrated strategic human resources management skills by leading organisational and cultural change initiatives.Throughout my tenure, I achieved several notable milestones. In recognition of my expertise, I was sponsored by the Federation Equestrian International (FEI) President to attend a Secretary General training course at the FEI in Lausanne, Switzerland. Furthermore, I conducted a comprehensive operational review and successfully implemented a new organisation structure, which was approved by the board. I adeptly managed the sensitive and challenging Coronial Inquest process following the tragic deaths of two young riders in 2016, taking responsibility for media and communications during this emotional time for the equestrian community.I also focused on improving risk management and safety culture within Equestrian Australia, establishing our country as a global leader in safety within equestrian sports. As a member of the High Performance Panel, I oversaw the elite program. Australia was one of only two nations to qualify all three Olympic disciplines for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics at the 2018 World Championships.In summary, my tenure as CEO of Equestrian Australia focussed on strategic planning, stakeholder relationships, organisational and cultural change, as well as significant achievements in safety, and financial performance.

Notable achievements include partnering with Alibaba Global for their Australian business launch, appointing independent directors to fill competency gaps, and implementing a comprehensive strategic plan. I also led successful large-scale events, fostered connections with government and the Chinese community, and played a key role in improving the organisation's financial position. Throughout my tenure, I demonstrated effective leadership and contributed to the growth and success of DBNSW.

I also developed a safety app and secured funding for the Freemantle Sailing Academy.
