Responsible for:• Providing operational and strategic policy advice to Antarctica NZ on NZDF resources and capabilities, to enhance the NZ contribution to Antarctic operations.• Develop, maintain, and enhance strong inter-agency and multi-national relationships including the National Science Foundation, United States Air Force and Antarctic Heritage Trust.• People leadership, management, and development of 80 NZDF logistics and support personnel deployed to Antarctica at Scott Base and McMurdo Station in support of Antarctica NZ and the United States Antarctic Program (USAP).• Developing and managing project plans to implement NZDF policies and initiatives in support of Antarctica NZ, USAP and other National Antarctic Programs.• Managing a unit budget of $200,000. Proactively identifying areas where budgetary efficiencies can be made, resulting in cost savings for Antarctica NZ. • Supporting stakeholder initiatives for the Antarctica Programs that use the Christchurch Antarctic Gateway.
