I was a part-time Bank CQC Inspector and Specialist Advisor, completing CQC inspections in facilities including: learning disability, domiciliary care agencies, nursing homes, and residential homes with dementia care, as well as hospitals and other registered services. This role was essential in allowing me to keep upto date with all aspects of the adult social care sector and provides a unique insight in to how the CQC evaluates its care providers, and how they want their rules and regulations to be implemented. This tacit knowledge is invaluable when working with my clients and achieving turnaround management solutions in the shortest possible times.

My core role was to provide support and guidance to the Registered Managers of underperforming nursing, residential, dementia, and learning disability homes.My clients included individual providers, Banks and Insolvency Practitioners acting as Fixed Charge Receivers or Administrators who required detailed Independent Business Reviews to establish short and long-term viability, and to identify and provide action plans for their improvement and turnaround. A critical aspect of the role involved developing turnaround management solutions that could be implemented immediately for the long-term. This involved auditing and implementing quality assurance measures, together with new training initiatives, working with the existing staff and developing KPIs to increase care standards and improve a home’s overall financial performance. My role focused on auditing performance and documentation implementation to meet CQC regulations. This comprised multi-unit management and providing support to Registered Managers on call.
