About Lucy Fairhurst

I am an ambitious and dedicated History Teacher with a demonstrated history of working within education. Often praised for my passion for History, I am enthusiastic about sharing this and my love of learning with students and colleagues. I am also passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes, both academically and pastorally, for students and driving standards. I pride myself on building positive and encouraging relationships with students, particularly amongst hard to engage students and those with behavioural issues and SEND. I am experienced in differentiating resources to suit the needs of SEND students and adapting lessons so that they are accessible by all whilst still remaining challenging. I have strong behaviour management skills and am able to keep calm during stressful situations. I am able to deliver across the Humanities curriculum (Geography to KS3 and History to KS5 as well as Citizenship).I have recently returned to university in order to continue pursuing my research interests. My current research project centres around the modernisation of the Labour Party in the 1980s and early 1990s.
