Lucy started as Product Manager at Micro:bit in March 2022. Inspiring kids interest in STEM & digital making has always been a passion for Lucy making this role particularly exciting. This role will make use of all Lucy's experience and skills across kids learning/coding, user research and wider product management to help steer the future direction of Micro:bit's products.Prior to this, she worked as Product Manager at Night Zookeeper, driving the vision for their creative writing and literacy learning platform. Before this, Lucy ran her own freelance business Digills Consulting, supporting those developing great digital products for children. She has been a leading figure in kids apps and educational digital products since she created the Good App Guide in 2013. She has extensive experience across many different areas including product management, user research, concept development, UX design, learning experience design, ideation leadership and product management.At Digills consulting, she has worked regularly with Preloaded, Entertainment One, Scary Beasties, LEGO and McDonalds, among others.As a qualified female Engineer, Lucy is also a passionate STEM Ambassador, vocal on the topic of how to get the next generation into STEM and engaged in activities that achieve this, in particular, (as a volunteer) she has designed and runs a weekly Primary School LEGO Maker Club incorporating learning creative, coding, engineering and science skills. Using kits including: LEGO wedo 2.0, Micro:bit, Makey Makey, Scratch, Sam Labs... Lucy also shares her knowledge and passion for making digital a positive influence to support parents, children and schools by giving talks to parents on: choosing apps, managing screen time, social media, coding and STEM (Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics)
