My main purpose as Operations Executive was to fully support the Operations Manager in the day-to-day administration and logistics of both a Commercial Vehicle Leasing broker and Drivespeed Leasing. Some examples of how I achieved this included working closely with the MS-RT Factory, managing stock demands of parts and extras, offering exemplary customer service, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail, and developing and sustaining great working relationships with Dealers, finance houses and suppliers. A few of my responsibilities included ordering vehicles with Ford, overseeing the logistics of our stock, working with the sales team regarding pricing of stock and extras, processing customer orders, processing and reconciling commercial invoices, and coordinating vehicle deliveries. I also assisted in the companies reporting processes, creating weekly reports on residual stock and Profit Per Unit report’s. After graduating, I took on a seasonal full-time position working at The White Company. Within the role I practised customer service, interacting with clients, team work and the general day-to-day running of the store. This role really enhanced my ability to build new relationships with clients and customers, and taught me essential customer service skills that will stick with me throughout my professional career.

Upon graduating from University before beginning my Masters degree I took on a role at a mortgage brokerage, in which my responsibilities included general administration/office work, processing mortgage applications, liaising with solicitors and contacting clients. I provided support to the team and reported to my line manager daily. I gained great organisation skills during this role as I was often in charge of organising meetings for the CEO and his team. After gaining skills during my degree in social media and Adobe InDesign, I was often given the role of coordinating the social media sites and creating online marketing content for their social media channels. This role included channel optimisation, reporting and analytics, optimising SEO’s and coordinating imagery. I regularly used software such as Excel, InDesign, Horizon and 360 online diary system.

During my final two years at University I with held a position at a busy student bar. After being employed there for 6 months I was promoted to Supervisor; the role included organising the weekly shift rota, organising in-house events for large groups and overseeing the general running of the bar. Following the skills and relevant knowledge I had gained throughout my course at University I was also given the role of social media assistant for the company, this involved creating posts and content for their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.

3-month placement undertaken as part of my university course in which I shadowed the various different directors for this organisation, including the PR and Marketing manager, Finance Representative and the Chairman Mark Nichols. I was tasked with various challenges within different departments such as advertising, digital acquisition, digital marketing, events planning and brand merchandising. Given my role at the organization, I was able to have deep conversations with other individuals within these departments and I was able to ask many advertising experts questions about their roles in the industry. Following the first 2 months of my placement I was given the task of being volunteer coordinator which involved coordinating 200 volunteers for the Northern Pride festival. Following the Placement, I was given a real insight into the scale of communication and creativity required to successfully run such a vast organization.

As I have a love for the fashion industry, I had a part time job as a sales assistant in which I learnt many skills including customer services and team work. We were also taught the effectiveness of CRM within the retail sector and the importance of this within the fashion industry. After being employed by the company for 4 months I was given the opportunity to become a Team Coach which involved training new staff on the shop floor and being their port of call whilst at work. I really thrived within this position as I enjoyed having a sense of responsibility and I loved having the opportunity to expand my knowledge about the retail sector and fashion industry.
