As a Revenue Manager my duties included, setting rate strategies which the hotel would sell at, changing rates to stay competitive in the market, rate parity checks, yield strategies, overbookings, updating all websites and making sure images and information was correct, Forecasting (on a weekly and monthly basis), ALG, analysing reports/data, maintaining market share, budget process for the hotel for the new financial year, monthly reports and making sure all deadlines were met. I also managed the Reservation department at the hotel and made sure training was up to date to ensure all reservation calls and bookings were added to the system correctly, we received retail eyes calls every month which I would monitor and issue necessary team training, or one on one training. I would also be in charge of taking group bookings/enquiries, offering competitive rates to win the business, making sure all payment/rooming lists had been received, taking conference bookings, sending quotes out to guests, show rounds at the hotel, and issuing function sheets internally to all staff. I would be the key person at the hotel for all group/conference organisers to communicate with and ensure all functions ran as smoothly as possible, ensuring all requirements were met at a hotel level, gaining a good rapport with clients. I worked closely with the hotels Sales Manager and would often attend appointment in order to develop close relationships with potential clients, it was through this networking that I gained trust and respect enabling me to be another point of contact for them.
