Support theoretical and practical animal health and husbandry teaching across years one and two of the programme, as well as small group clinical skills teaching in years three and four and clinical skills teaching throughout. Involved in practical assessment across all years including OSCEs and final year oral assessments as well as assessments of case presentations and audits.

The first vet to hold this role. Since its implementation have maintained regular new graduate clinical case discussions facilitated by myself as well as other farm vets. The role demonstrates my teaching skills as well as my ability to motivate, support and manage other vets. Creation of a new graduate 'summer camp' Supporting other LED team members in the implementation of clinical vet days designed to improve CPD provision for more experienced vets which involves liaising with veterinary drug companies and external CPD providers.

Based at Endell Farm Vets where the week split between clinical work including a share of the full out of hours rota, teaching final year Royal Veterinary College students, studying for the European Diploma in Bovine Health Management and the MVetMed and carrying out research as part of these studies

Working as a clinical farm vet treating all farm species. Working for Endell Farm Vets before transitioning to the Residency programme means I was already aware of their procedures and and had established good colleague and client relationships.

I have experience in clinical examinations, client communication and ultrasound scanning as well as routine surgical and diagnostic procedures. Covering out of hours calls has given me confidence in a variety of emergency situations such as wound management, collapsed calves and parturition problems including prolapses and caesarean sections. I am able to carry out post-mortems at an APHA approved level.I have been involved in a number of client meetings including BVD presentations, selective dry cow therapy consultations and leading lambing workshops. I relish the chance to take the time to discuss poignant issues with farmers and am especially interested client education, especially topics pertinent to smallholders as well as calf health.I am specifically responsible for a number of dairy herds’ routines, fertility treatments and calf health. I am confident in many aspects of surgery. I am also involved in mobility and mastitis investigations and have a good working knowledge of Interherd, NMR’s Herd Companion and CIS. These visits and reports enhance my client communication skills and demonstrate my passion for progressive client care.
