I was responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of sales and marketing activity for the venue hire businesses across the Science Museum Group. Venues include the Science Museum in London, the National Railway Museum in York, the Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) in Manchester and the National Media Museum in Bradford.

Crowned 'Event Caterer of the Year' 2014, Harbour & Jones Events is a specialist event catering company working in some of London's most unique and iconic venues including art galleries, famous landmarks and grand historic houses as well as temporary marquee and outdoor sites. My role is to drive revenue and grow the brand and venue portfolio through strategic sales and marketing activity.

Sales Manager for Payne and Gunter - A special events caterer throughout the unique venues of London including Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Hampton Court Palace and Tower of London.I'm the first point of contact at P&G for clients holding events in some of London's most iconic venues. It's my job to guide them through the early stages of the event planning process and ensure their objectives and aspirations for the event are reflected in the venue and catering.

As part of the marketing team, it was my role to raise the profile of the Hornbill brand within the ITSM industry and generate leads via a series of events. The annual events calendar consists of industry exhibitions, conferences, awards and seminars at which Hornbill usually has a key stake. I also steered the Hornbill Customer Community activities and launched a nationwide series of user group events, specialist interest groups and the Hornbill Academy – a free educational programme for customers.

A private members club in the heart of Soho, Century offers space for private functions including meetings, conferences, parties, weddings and media events. As the Events Manager I managed all aspects of the events business; promoting the space, consulting clients, improving processes, ensuring events are delivered to the highest possible standard.

I worked on a portfolio of seven international conferences, the largest being in London which included 800 delegates for a two-day event and awards ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane. Responsibilities included overseeing the smooth running of the online meeting system Meeting Manager, liaising with venues, hotel bookings, producing marketing materials and working with the sales team to ensure conferences were financially successful.

As Marketing Manager for the conferences and events division, my role was to plan and implement the marketing strategy in order to attract and retain corporate event business for the venue. Activities included website development, creation of sales tools, direct marketing and e-marketing campaigns, advertising, hospitality, industry events and PR.

I joined the Stock Exchange as Events Manager for the Media Centre, organising around 200 events each year. These ranged from small meetings to receptions for up to 300. Having launched the initiative in the Exchange’s Old Broad Street premises in 2001 I then worked on growing the business to compete within the London venue market. I then worked on developing the new Media & Business Complex, a combined media and events venue in the Exchange’s new headquarters.

I worked in the press office for events such as the London Youth Games, Swimathon and Race for Life. Experience in organising photo-calls and press launches led to an interest in event management which I then moved into. Highlights included a nationwide promotional tour for the BT Swimathon including 12 dates with local celebrities, sponsor and charity representation and local children, in a bid to attract press coverage for the appeal. During the summer each year, if other work commitments allow, I work for Limelights on events such as the Nike 10k, Royal Parks Half Marathon and the Boutique Run.
