Hello, my name is Lucy Loomis and I am a sophomore at the Daniels School of Business at Purdue University. I am currently studying Finance and Economics. I am involved in the Brock-Wilson Center for Women in Business to find like-minded women and be part of a supportive community. I worked at a local grocery store during my sophomore through senior year of high school on a part-time basis. This is where I learned how to handle cash accurately and develop customer service skills. I observed and learned from cash drawer audits, gaining valuable insights into financial accuracy and compliance processes. This past summer, I completed a bookkeeping project for an investment group. I transferred 6-8 months' worth of the company's bank statements to Microsoft Excel, ensuring accurate beginning and ending balances. In high school, I was involved in DECA and Carmel Dance Marathon, where I managed a group of 20-25 underclassmen while raising over $2,100 for Riley Hospital for Children.
