    I have worked with Counselling Tutor for a few years now.     Freetobook is a highly successful owner run business in the software development as a service industry. The directors felt their biggest limiting factor to scaling the business was they had too few developers to get through the workload. Finding and keeping the right developers was hard and they were heavily reliant on their 2 most experienced employees. Projects seems to run on with no clear end in sight and they often appeared to be at 95% complete for a significant length of time.The SolutionI worked with the business to identify and streamline which repeatable steps would routinely change their flow of ideas into end products. This was needed for their software development cycle, their performance management and their internal business communications. We used a few tools to assist people to follow the steps and make them visible to everybody. We made research and adoption of relevant best practises part of day to day operations. The resultWe changed the dynamic of the team and their output, we halved sick leave, we steadied the workflow and saved money through less recruitment (i.e. no need for tech manager). Now the business has more time and resources to grow.

    Developed and coordinated a private sector initiative called the Botswana Business Coalition on AIDS (BBCA). Botswana had one of the highest infection rates of HIV/AIDS in the world and the impact of this was evident in the workplace. The BBCA was a non profit organisation offering membership to businesses to share information and strategies on managing the impact from a business and social perspective. Whilst sharing best practices and strategies to manage increased levels of absenteeism, I was motivated to start my Masters in management which is the HR equivalent of an MBA. We had over 50 corporate members and strong working partnerships with government programs, various NGOs and sponsors.
